This successful and well-established design engineering company is currently seeking a Technical Author to provide engineering and project support for all documentation functions within the business.

You will be responsible for the following duties:
Duties
  • Preparing all technical documentation to support products delivered to clients.
  • Developing and maintaining company styles and templates for consistent documentation and company image.
  • Following and supporting the company quality HSE procedures.
  • Working with the Project Managers and Engineering Manager to ensure that the documentation is delivered to schedule, within budget and to the required standards.
  • Liaising with subcontractors and partners to ensure correct data and support information is provided to the company.
  • Specifying formats and providing data to outside subcontractors for printed documents and electronic format documents.
  • Providing support to the marketing and bid teams to win future business.

  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in an engineering / scientific discipline or media / journalism.
  • Good writing / editing skills with a strong level of attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro knowledge.
  • Some working knowledge of Autocad / Photoshop / Illustrator or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards and processes.
  • Knowledge or experience in the offshore, oilfield, or marine industries.
Experience
  • Experience of technical documentation preparation and production.
  • Graphics skills for generating templates, document editing and advertising material.
  • Solid engineering background covering mechanical, hydraulic and electrical / electronic functions.
  • Capable of working within a pressurized environment.
